My ultimate procrastination project. For some reason, I always save the primary suite for last. I have no problem designing other people's space but my bedroom has always been a challenge for me. Maybe because I'm my toughest critic? Who knows...
When I was designing this room, I knew I wanted this space to feel tranquil, but refined. I wanted it to feel like I was staying in a South Carolina B&B- prim, proper, pampered, and pretty (the 4Ps (I just made that up)). I wanted it to be feminine, but not so much so that my husband wouldn't want to call it his.
the CANVAS
I believe the previous owner did the board and batten themselves- nicely done! This house was approximately 10 years old when we bought it. It was a typical builder-grade home. While very vanilla, it provided the ultimate blank canvas for anything when it came to room design.
the INSPIRATION
I turn to Pinterest a lot for inspiration. I stumbled across this bedroom designed by, I believe, Amy Berry Designs. I fell in love with the palette, as well as the fresh and refined style.
